1. Install Android Studio Using the Ubuntu Software Center

Open the Ubuntu Software Center from Activities »Find Ubuntu Software.

Open the Downloads directory or directory where you downloaded Android Studio and then extract the downloaded archive using the tar command.

tar -zxvf android-studio-ide-*-linux.tar.gz

sudo mv android-studio /opt/

Link the executable directory to / bin so you can quickly run Android Studio using the android-studio command.

sudo ln -sf /opt/android-studio/bin/studio.sh /bin/android-studio

Create a .desktop file under / usr / share / apps directory to start Android Studio from the Activities menu.

sudo nano /usr/share/applications/android-studio.desktop
